Case Study
A prescription wallet app to manage your prescriptions
A prescription wallet app to manage your prescriptions
I design the prescription wallet app—a user-friendly mobile and web application that simplifies prescription management. Features include:
Simplifies prescription management
Digital storage for prescriptions
Secure profile management
Pharmacy search and price comparisons
Integrated coupons and insurance coverage
Refill reminders and healthcare notifications
Revolutionizes prescription management
Enhances convenience and saves time
Improves user experience on mobile and web platforms
The current healthcare landscape lacks an efficient and user-friendly solution for prescription management.
There is a lack of integration between digital storage, secure profile management, pharmacy search, price comparisons, and integrated coupons/insurance coverage.
This results in inconvenience and a time-consuming process for managing prescriptions.
Users miss refill reminders and healthcare notifications.
Existing systems provide a subpar user experience.
We need an app that revolutionizes prescription management by saving time, enhancing convenience, and improving the user experience.
Integration of mobile and web platforms is essential for wider accessibility.
This is the design process I followed for this project.
1. Research
2. Define & Ideate
3. Design & Prototype
4. Testing
5. Documentation & Reflection
I analysed both direct and indirect competitors of the prescription wallet app, as well as various medical applications.
This competitive analysis will examine key competitors in the market, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, and identify opportunities for our app to stand out.
As well as these competitors MyPrescriptions, Medisafe, Walgreens App, GoodRx.
Next, I examined the features of various apps to ascertain which ones we should incorporate into our own app to achieve a distinctive and captivating user experience.
Next, I conducted 15 user interviews, and though I wish I had more participants, I still gained a lot of insights into the prescription wallet experience.
Some of my interviews attached below.
Next, By understanding each step, I brainstorm the problem to gain a clear understanding of each feature.
By creating user flows, I was able to map out the specific paths that users would take in my app.
I divided the app into different modules such as authentication, profile, sending prescriptions, and insurance to handle user flows. I created a separate flow for each section.
Sketching screens helped me visualize my ideas and bring them to life. I sketch my ideas using pen and paper, as well as online tools like Miro, to create digital sketches.
Wireframing helped me visualize and refine the layout and functionality of my app before progressing to High-Fidelity wireframes.
The style guide provided clear guidelines and visual elements that helped me create a cohesive and consistent design for my hi-fidelity screens. Following these guidelines, I achieved a polished and professional design that aligned with the project's vision and goals.
Using my existing work on user flows, wireframes, and the style guide, I created polished and detailed high-fidelity user interfaces that met the needs of my users and the brand's visual identity. This resulted in user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces that achieved the project's goals.
Figma brought my app to life with its interactive and user-friendly interface. It allowed me to easily design and prototype my app exactly as I had envisioned it, making my project more efficient and effective.
I used user bob & maze to test each feature in the project before moving it for development.
The test objective was to determine if users could complete the tasks successfully and recover from mistakes.
It aimed to identify areas for improvement to enhance user performance and satisfaction.
Based on the feedback received, revisions were made to better align with users' needs and experiences.
I create documentation for each feature using Jira software, which assists designers who join later on.
Also add design system for all project with reusable components.
